Impact of the Marshal Papworth Scholarship on Isaac Kankam-Boadu (PhD)

I deferred my admission at University of Bradford for six (6) years from 2001 to 2007 due to my inability to afford the cost until I received Marshall Papworth scholarship in 2008 to pursue M.Sc. Project Planning and Management at University of Bradford, UK. Although I had completed M.Sc. Agronomy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana whilst I was waiting for funding opportunity to study in the UK, I was determined to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK because I knew that could open doors for me. Receiving the Marshal Papworth scholarship was therefore a dream come true! Though difficult to resign my position from the Millennium Villages Project at that time because I was receiving a salary of US$ 550, I knew I could earn more after studying in the UK so I resigned and left for studies in the UK in September 2008.
