People in Mesfin’s community have been bombarded with free hand-outs and relieve aids. This (though needed sometimes saves lives) has sapped the confidence and self-belief of the people which render them powerless and hopeless. This ultimately kills any prospect of local innovation and problem-solving skills. What he gained from his study is a way of insulating confidence, hope and self-belief through proper communication channels and promotion of local innovations.
