Bwalya is employed by the Cotton Association of Zambia. The Cotton Association of Zambia is a member-based organization formed by smallholder farmers to address concerns of members in the cotton sub-sector. His role as a Field Officer involves mobilizing farmers, mostly into study circles, as well as savings group and cooperatives, providing them with technical services and training.

Sheila attended University of South Africa, qualifying in 2014 in BSc Agricultural Management. Sheila currently works for Agro Zamiba Limited as an Agronomist. Her roles and responsibilities are:

  • Define and plan the scope of cropping projects
  • Implement and manage all cropping projects
  • Record and process data from all projects
  • Collaborate with government and partners
  • Organise farm open days and provide talks

On completing the course, Sheila would like to make contacts with colleagues and industry professionals on various opportunities that would enable her to have a forum/platform to contribute to the agriculture industry.

After his studies it was Gregory’s wish to be able to plan and develop projects successfully. He now continues to share, with the technical staff under him, his skills in successful implementation and management of development projects.

Danny continued his job and contributed to national development using his newly acquired skills. High on his list of priorities is the training of field extension workers, direct farmer training and giving guidance to agricultural college students studying sustainable rural development.
